5 July 2012-- A visit to the Ulu Camii (Grand Mosque) and Silk Market

This magnificent structure was completed in the early 1400s. The 12 columns support 15 small domes and 1 large dome.




This is the absolution fountains. Worshippers wash their feet here before entering the mosque.






























Beside the mosque is the Silk Market. It was constructed in the century after the Ulu Camii.













On a visit to Bursa, Queen Elizabeth shopped here.
